It was either this or "Holy Shit, Batman!"

Is it cool that I’m in legit love with Josh Ruben?

Just because.

(Also, take note of the wonderful Hartford Civic Center color scheme - I really did love everything about that place.)

Earlier this week, I got to interview Weird Al over the phone. As you may not know but can probably guess, when I was younger I was a huge fan of his work. Weird Al was not just the first album I bought, he was the first several. I’ve written about his work several times on this blog1, which basically means I enjoy writing about Weird Al in my free time for fun.
Al was very friendly and a real pleasure to talk to, and you can read the interview right now on CollegeHumor. Here’s a teaser:

CollegeHumor: You are by far the number one selling comedy musician of all time. Do you even know who number two is?WA: Uh, I don’t.CH: Why do you think there are no other Weird Als out there?WA: I don’t know, I guess the zeitgeist only had room for one and I got it. I just started at the right time and had a few lucky breaks and worked hard at it and surrounded myself with talented people and I’ve just been very lucky I guess.

1. Past excerpts from JeffRubinJeffRubin.com
- “I really don’t know what to wear to the Weird Al concert.” - 10/19/07- “Some of [Al]’s recent stuff is better than anything he’s ever done.” - 9/28/08- “Really, it’s hard to believe Weird Al survived at all - much less thrived - before iTunes and YouTube.” - 10/8/08- “All this thinking about Weird Al reminded me of one my all-time favorite Onion articles, “I Must Take Issue With the Wikipedia Entry for ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.” I went back to read it, and I’m a little embarassed how much it resembles the blog post I wrote last night.” - 10/9/08

Coincidence? I Think Not!

mikekarnell:

Today legendary Boxing Referee Lou Filippo passed away. You might know him best as the referee in Rocky 3, 4, and 5.

Also, Ivan Drago’s birthday is today…

Is it a coincidence that Drago celebrates his birthday on the same day that the referee who helped end Communism passes away? I THINK NOT! Another blow by the Ruskies!

When reached for comment, Dolph Lundgren remarked, “If he dies… he dies.  Oh, he did die? My condolences.”

Creepy Couples Costume Idea

Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus.

The more PDA, the more friends you’ll possibly lose.  Anything that gets people saying, “What the fuck?! That’s fucking weird!” is a good costume in my book.

Ketchup or catsup?
I make this joke about 90% of the time I’m in the vicinity of ketchup (catsup?) in the grocery store.

Brooke's off the Hook

So I guess we can all stop blaming Brooke Shields for Andre Agassi sucking for that time in the ’90s. I mean, unless ‘Brooke Shields’ is your code name for ‘snorting crystal meth’.
